THE EUROPEAN BANKING UNION (EBU) 2013

To: The Right Honourable British Chancellor of the Exchequer Mr. George Osborne From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: December 13, 2013 RE: European Banking Union (EBU) Suggestion: Good Morning Mr. Chancellor. Let me start by paying my respects to you and through you to. Mr. Chancellor, Financial Times, London reported that EU sets out framework for Banking Union but several EU finance Ministers raised strong objections. In my opinion, banking union is necessary to ensure the future resolution of failing banks within the EU and it is intended to restore confidence in banks all across the eurozone. There are too many undercapitalised institutions in the European market. Thus, there are too many problems in the European banking sector. For instance, increase in non-performing loans of banks, too large banking sector in small eurozone countries, high public debt through bank bailout and great linkages in European banking the risk of spill-o

Let me start by paying my respects to you and through you to. Your Excellency, kindly accepts my heartfelt congratulation Governor. You are the first non-Briton to be appointed as the Bank of England Governor. As an Analyst, I knew that you have been an exceptional steward of Canada’s monetary policy. I fully support the BoE is open for business and the banking sector reform. Mr. Governor, you knew that the pressure from increased regulation, tight funding availability and tough economic condition always lead to substantial increase loan pricing for corporates. As a result, Banks will increase margins on their loans to corporates and on riskier loans. This will adversely aff

ECB's OMT PROGRAMME 2013

To: The Right Honourable Bundesbank President Dr. Jens Weidmann From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: October 18, 2013 RE: ECB’s OMT Programme Suggestion: Good Morning Mr. President. Let me start by paying my respects to you and through you to. First up all, I would like to congratulate you carry out your duty best as a Bundesbank President. As a Bundesbank President you are correct, the causes of the euro crisis lie in the high level of indebtedness and the lack of competitiveness of some member states. Now, eurozone government spending is being reduced and reforms are being introduced across southern Europe but the European financial markets don’t seem to recognise this progress and are pushing up the interest rates on sovereign bonds to elevate. Mr. President, you argued that the OMT programme of the ECB is illegal due to the fact that it would make German tax payers liable for paying taxes to cover potential losses made by the ECB. In my opinion, Germ

REBUILDING AMERICAN ECONOMY 2013

To: The Right Honourable American President Mr. Barack Obama    From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: August 3, 2013 RE: Your Economic Vision Suggestion: Good Morning Mr. President. Let me start by paying my respects to you and through you to. Mr. President, India’s Business Line reported that “Obama to outline his vision for rebuilding US economy.” American economy may not grow as fast because US consumer spending crowds out investment spending. But I see US economic outlook improve gradually during the second half of 2013. According to me, investment spending is much more likely to be growth enhancing. If I am not mistaken, US inflation rate was recorded at 1.8 percent in June 2013. Inflation is not at very high level in US. If inflation is very high, it adversely affects fixed business investment. I identified fiscal policy for instance, tax cut that stimulates investment spending. Corporate tax rate should be lowered, an investment tax credit should be
