To: The Right Honourable Swiss National Bank President Thomas Jordan From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: November 16, 2012 RE: Swiss National Bank Forex Reserves Challenges Suggestion: SNB Effective and Efficient Management of Forex Reserves. Good Morning Mr. President. I am writing to express that “Financial Times, London” reported that “ SNB warns on challenge of forex reserves ”. It is true that forex reserve management have inexorably raised significant challenges for SNB in recent years. If I am not mistaken, SNB foreign exchange reserves surged from CHF 50 billion at the end of 2008 to nearly CHF 500 billion in November 2012. It accounts nearly 70 percent of the GDP. SNB forex reserves expanded very rapidly in recent years due to SNB monetary policy. As you pointed out earlier “diversification is the only way for the SNB to mitigate the impact of foreign exchange fluctuations”. I agreed Mr. President because hedging the exchange rate risk is the main ca...

RESERVE BANK OF AUSTRALIA INTEREST RATE CUT 2012

To: The Right Hon’ble Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Glenn Stevens From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: October3, 2012 RE: Interest Rate Cut 25bps. Good Afternoon Mr. Governor. It was definitely a prudent decision by cutting the key rate by 25 bps. The global economy is still pretty uncertain. In US, if we look at recent GDP data, there is definitely not optimism there. In Europe, economy recovery is very slow process. In addition, China economy is slowing down which is the main downside risk of Australian economy. It is my judgment that, a decline in iron ore prices compounded with stubbornly high dollar compelling you to cut key rate 25 basis points. Mr. Governor, each and every policy decision you are proving that you are the world best central banker. Your efforts to controlling inflation, interest rate management, currency stability and economic growth goals. You are perfect Mr. Governor in your profession. I think that you have made the right move th...

UK BREAKING DEBT RULE 2012

To: The Right Honourable British Chancellor  George Gideon Oliver Osborne MP. From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja Date: September 28, 2012 RE: Breaking Debt Rule Suggestion:  Good Morning Mr. Chancellor. Indeed, I was crushed to hear Bank of England Governor Dr. Mervyn King comments on breaking debt rule. Dr. Mervyn King gave permission to break one of your iron-cast promises. I am not faulting Dr. Mervyn King comments. Indeed, Dr. Mervyn King has done a pretty admirable job handling financial crisis in 2008. Mr. Chancellor I am sorry to say that your government was elected to diminish the long term structural deficit. But your government failed to achieve it. UK keeps it top AAA credit rating because market expects that your government would keep the budget tight. But your government failed to keep the budget tight. If you lost AAA credit rating, interest rates will shoot up and UK will never be able to diminish its deficit. Indeed, UK GDP is shrink...

STRATOSPHERIC SPAIN AUSTERITY - AN ABSOLUTE ANALYSIS

To: The Right Hon’ble Prime Minister of Spain Mr. Mariano Rajoy Brey  From: Athinarayanan Sanjeevraja  Date: September 11, 2012 RE: Stratospheric Spain Austerity – An Absolute Analysis       Suggestion:  Good Morning Mr. Prime Minister. Your government published a proposal to raise taxes and reduce government spending for fiscal consolidation by 56.4 billion by 2015. Most of the commentators and economists including Nobel Prize winning economist Paul Krugmann argued that austerity will not work in Europe. But I believe austerity will work in Europe if it ensued in the context of systemic change. For instance, your austerity should support long term effects on the health of the economy particularly fiscal consolidation, balanced budget, increasing savings and investments, continued improvements in productivity and exports. I would like to recommend 70 percent government spending cuts and 30 percent tax increases to ensure...
